Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) is the state-owned electric utility and the largest energy company in Serbia, wholly owned by the Government of Serbia and headquartered in Belgrade. It operates as a joint-stock company with activities spanning electricity generation, supply, distribution and trading, and also oversees significant coal mining operations that fuel its thermal power plants. EPS has an installed capacity of over 7,300 MW and produces tens of terawatt-hours of electricity annually, making it a cornerstone of Serbia’s energy system. The company is the largest employer in the country, with nearly 19,600 staff, and plays a central role in the nation’s energy security. It expands renewable energy capacity while maintaining service quality and contributing to social and environmental initiatives. EPS continues to partner with domestic and international stakeholders as it modernises infrastructure and supports Serbia’s energy transition.
