The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has launched a request for selection (RfS) tender for the development of an 8 MW grid-connected waste-to-energy (WtE) project in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh in India.
The contract includes the construction of the WtE facility, the installation and interconnection of the project to the grid network to supply energy to SECI. The selected bidder will make storage arrangements for the refuse-derived fuel (RDF) supplied by India's Department of Urban Development (DoUD) or Urban Local Body (ULB) for 45 days of operation. The project is expected to start commercial operation within 18 months from the date of signing of PPA.
