Adani Green switches on 180 MW of solar Project in India

Adani Green Energy (AGEL) has commissioned a 180 MW solar plant under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corp. of India (SECI) located at Devikot, in Jaisalmer district, Rajasthan, India.

The anticipated output of the 180 MW solar plant is approximately 540 million units (kWh) of electricity annually, providing energy for over 110,000 households. The facility incorporates advanced bifacial solar PV modules and horizontal single-axis solar trackers to optimize generation by enhancing module efficiency and tracking the sun's movement throughout the day. Additionally, the plant is outfitted with waterless robotic module cleaning systems, promoting water conservation in the arid environment of Jaisalmer. 

Following the effective launch of this facility, AGEL's operational solar portfolio has expanded to 6,243 MW, while its overall operating renewable energy capacity has reached 9,784 MW, establishing it as India's largest renewable energy provider. AGEL specializes in the development, ownership, and operation of utility-scale, grid-connected solar, wind, and hybrid renewable power plants. With a committed growth plan leading up to 21.8 GW and a goal of achieving 45 GW of installed renewable energy capacity by 2030, the company is poised for substantial expansion in the renewable energy sector.
