Qair and Ultragaz have signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the Bom Jardim solar project, located in Icó in the state of Ceará. This solar facility has a total installed capacity of 192 MW and was commissioned earlier in 2026.
Under this agreement, the project will supply approximately 131.5 GWh of renewable electricity annually to Ultragaz, one of Brazil’s largest LPG distributors. The deal ensures a stable and long-term supply of clean energy while helping Ultragaz reduce its carbon footprint and improve energy security. It also reflects the growing trend of corporate buyers directly procuring renewable power through long-term contracts. The project is part of a broader strategy by Qair to adapt to Brazil’s evolving energy market. By selecting sites with strong grid infrastructure and designing flexible PPA models, the company aims to deliver efficient and sustainable energy solutions. This approach not only benefits corporate clients like Ultragaz but also supports local communities and strengthens the overall renewable energy ecosystem.
Furthermore, the agreement demonstrates a consumer-centric model of renewable energy development, where producers and industrial consumers collaborate closely. By aligning Qair’s expertise in renewable energy with Ultragaz’s strategic goals, the Bom Jardim project goes beyond electricity generation to provide long-term value, reliability, and sustainability. Overall, the initiative represents a significant contribution to Brazil’s efforts to diversify its energy mix and accelerate the transition toward clean energy.
