Elera Renováveis has inaugurated the second phase of the 1,617 MW solar complex in Janaúba, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
The second and final phase of the project has a capacity of 422 MW, following the completion of the initial 1.2 GW phase in July 2023. Elera Renováveis invested BRL 5 billion (US$ 820 million) in the Janaúba project, which spans approximately 3,800 hectares and comprises 27 solar parks. Construction by the Brazilian renewables developer commenced in January 2021.
All the output generated by the PV complex has already been sold in Brazil's free energy market (ACL) under contracts with different clients lasting over 15 years.
