Conrad Energy has switched on its 45 MW Larport solar farm in Herefordshire, England.
The facility has begun producing power, located on a 120-acre (48.6-ha) site in Dormington. It generates more than 40,000 MWh of electricity annually to power 10,400 homes and helps save around 9,400 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
BNP Paribas will use the energy generated to decarbonise its UK operations via an initial 15-year power purchase agreement. The solar farm consists of a 77,000-panel array is delivered by Ethical Power, the company was responsible for the design optimisation and full-wrap engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for the solar facility. It will also provide operation and maintenance services for the site.
