Nordex Group has secured a 120MW turbine supply and installation order from Balıkesir Elektrik Yenilenebilir Enerji Üretim ve Satış AŞ, a subsidiary of Efor Holding, for the R25-Balıkesir-2 wind farm in Türkiye.
The agreement covers the supply and installation of 18 N175/6.X wind turbines for the R25-Balıkesir-2 wind power project, with a combined capacity of 120 MW. These turbines will be delivered in a cold-climate configuration and mounted on tubular steel towers with a hub height of 119 meters. In addition to installation, the Nordex Group will also provide premium maintenance services for a duration of 10 years. The project site lies 35 km northwest of Balıkesir, with turbines to be installed at elevations between 425 and 680 meters above sea level. The first turbine installation is planned for March 2027, while full commissioning of the wind farm is expected by August 2027.
At the signing, Efor Holding Chairman İbrahim Akkuş highlighted the 120 MW Balıkesir wind project as a key step in strengthening the company’s renewable energy portfolio and supporting Türkiye’s green transition, while also contributing to local development and jobs. Nordex’s Ender Özaytay added that the project continues their strong partnership, with advanced turbines enhancing efficiency and supporting Türkiye’s renewable energy goals.
The R25-Balıkesir-2 project represents the third wind farm collaboration between Efor Holding and the Nordex Group, marking a significant step in advancing the company’s renewable energy strategy. Their partnership began with the Gelgit project in 2024, followed by the YEKA-4 R24 Yellice Wind Power Plant agreement in 2025. With the addition of the YEKA-5 Balıkesir-2 project, Efor Holding continues to grow its renewable energy portfolio under Türkiye’s YEKA framework. The project also meets local content requirements, contributing to domestic manufacturing and supporting value creation in alignment with YEKA goals.
