The Air France-KLM Group has signed long-term supply contracts with Neste for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The agreement covers the provision of 1.6 million tons of SAF between 2023 and 2036, which will prevent 4.7 million tons of CO2 emissions compared to fossil fuels over the full lifecycle.
Partnership discussions are underway to add more suppliers with the goal of gradually developing a diverse network capable of satisfying global supply needs.
In the coming years, more environmental commitments (like new SAF contracts, research, and development on e-fuels or hydrogens, Direct Air Carbon Capture and Storage (DACCS), etc.) will add to its decarbonization efforts to reduce carbon footprints in its operations.
