The Government of France has chosen a location for the 250 MW floating wind project located more than 20 km (12.4 miles) off Pointe des Poulains de Belle-Ile, South of Brittany, France.
The offshore wind farm will consist of approximately 20 turbines and will be completed by 2030. Once operational, the wind park will generate enough electricity to power around 450,000 homes.
The developer of the wind project will be selected through an already initiated tender process. The final offers of the shortlisted candidates will be accepted early the following year, and the winner will be announced in the spring of 2023.
