Iberdrola and Solvay have announced their partnership on a new solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Tavaux and Saint Fons, France.
Under the terms of the agreement, a 172-ha land will be used to construct the PV plant, a 60% portion of whose output would be acquired for 20 years by Solvay for its industrial facilities in Tavaux and Saint Fons. The solar project will occupy 77 ha and comprise approximately 100,000 PV modules. The remainder of the available space will be dedicated to preservation measures to ensure the project's full integration with its surroundings. The facility will generate about 75 GWh annually, making it one of the largest in Europe.
The solar project is expected to be online by the end of 2025.
