Neoen has started the construction of the 40 MW/40 MWh Storen Power Reserve project located in the municipality of Ragunda about 100 km from Östersund, Sweden. Battery provider Nidec has been given the notice to proceed to start the construction of the facility.
Neoen will own the facility once commissioned and it will be connected to the 130kV E.ON grid. The project will provide the Swedish transmission system operator Svenska Kraftnät with ancillary services and Frequency Containment Reserve services.
The project is targeted for commissioning by the first half of 2024.
