Naturgy Energy Group SA has obtained an environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the development of the 27.6 MW Piago wind project located in Galicia, northwest Spain.
The wind farm involves about EUR28 million (US$29.8 million) investment. It will feature seven turbines that will produce around 103 GWh of power annually. Currently, Naturgy operates 17 wind farms in Galicia with a combined output of 1,128 GWh of electricity.
Naturgy, formerly known as Gas Natural Fenosa, is a multinational group focused on natural gas and utilities operating in more than 30 countries and with almost 18 million customers, headquartered in Barcelona. The company has an installed capacity of 15.45 GW and a diversified power generation mix on an international scale.
