The Government of Mozambique, through its Ministry of Resources Minerals (MIREME), has launched the Renewable Energy Auctions Promotion Program (PROLER), which aims to increase the renewable energy production capacity and diversifying sources of energy.
The government has received funds from the French Development Agency (Agence Française de Développement) to support PROLER, which consists of a program of solar photovoltaic and wind projects to be implemented through an independent energy producer with a total capacity of approximately 120 MW.
In order to select an experienced and qualified entrepreneur and/or investor to finance, design, build and operate a project for a 30MW / 40MWP photovoltaic solar plant in Dondo, Sofala Province, the Energy Regulatory Authority (ARENE) of MIREME hereby invites entities that meet the prequalification requirements detailed in the Prequalification Documents to submit a proposal.
The selection will be carried out through a public tender with pre-qualification and ARENE will act as the entity responsible for procurement. Preliminary information, related to the PROLER program, will be provided in Part II of the Prequalification Document.
The Requests for Proposals are expected to be issued during the first quarter of the year 2021 to Prequalified Competitors, at which time the scope of the Project will be defined in greater detail and strict requirements will be included regarding national content.
The deadline for the submission of tender documents on November 16, 2020.
