Lightsource bp has secured planning approval from the Arkansas Public Service Commission for the development of the 250 MW AC/312 MW DC Entergy Arkansas Driver Solar Project located on about 2,100 ac of land near Osceola in Mississippi County, USA.
The solar photovoltaic (PV) project will be used to power the U. S. Steel Corporation's Big River Steel facility. Lightsource bp has completed the development and permitting process of the project and will construct the solar farm on a build-transfer agreement with Entergy Arkansas.
The solar PV farm is expected to be operational by late 2024.
