Lightsource bp has closed a US$327 million financing package and initiated construction on the 250 MW AC/313 MW DC Driver Solar project near Osceola in Mississippi County, Arkansas, USA. The solar farm will be constructed by Lightsource bp under a build-transfer agreement with Entergy Arkansas and is expected to be the largest solar farm in Entergy Arkansas' portfolio and the largest in the state of Arkansas. The clean energy generated from the project will be enough to power more than 50,000 homes in the area.

Moss Construction was chosen as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Contractor, and will install over 650,000 solar panels made by First Solar, and utilized smart solar trackers from Array Technologies. The facility has been developed, financed, and permitted by Lightsource bp.

Construction has begun, and the project is expected to be operational by late 2024. Lightsource bp's investment will not only advance renewables infrastructure in the state but also create green jobs and boost local economic growth.
