NextEra Energy Resources LLC and Portland General Electric (PGE) have officially opened the 380 MW Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility in Morrow County, Oregon, USA.
The complex consists of a 300 MW wind farm, 50 MW of solar energy, and 30 MW of battery storage. It is anticipated to provide power to the equivalent of 100,000 homes.
Under 30-year and 20-year power purchase agreements, PGE will purchase the generation from the remaining portion of the project, which is owned by NextEra Energy Resources. A new transmission line has been constructed to connect the project to the local high voltage grid operated by Bonneville Power Administration.
Nexans has secured a supply contract from Ørsted for the delivery of the export cable system for the 704 MW Revolution Wind Farm located about 15 miles south of the Rhode Island coast in the USA.
