Lhyfe and the municipality of Harjedalen will investigate the feasibility of producing 5 MW of renewable hydrogen gas in Harjedalen, Sweden.
The feasibility study, to be presented early next year, will analyze the potential for green hydrogen, as well as energy supply, production capacity, technological choice, location, available land, waste heat use, and coproduced oxygen gas. The results will determine whether or not a more comprehensive project feasibility assessment will be conducted.
The hydrogen plant could interact with the local electricity surplus generated by wind and hydropower in order to alleviate the main electrical system. Hydrogen production in Härjedalen could replace fossil fuels in transportation and industries and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
