Kyocera Corp., K.K. GAIA POWER, Kyudenko Corp., and Tokyo Century Corp. has started the commercial operation of the 92 MW Kanoya Osaki Solar Hills solar project.
The Kanoya Osaki Solar Hills is jointly established by the four companies, located on a site stretching across Kanoya City and Osaki Town in Kagoshima Prefecture, consists of 356,928 Kyocera solar modules, spanning across about 494 acres of land area.
The project required JPY 40 billion (US$375 million) of investments and is expected to generate enough to supply for about 39,300 local homes and offset around 62,420 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually.
The project's output will be delivered to Kyushu Electric Power Company Inc.
