MHI Vestas Offshore Wind has been commissioned by Renova Inc to supply wind turbines for the development of the 700 MW Akita Yurihonjo offshore wind project.
The wind project is under the Akita Yurihonjo Offshore Wind GK, a collaboration of Renova, Cosmo Eco Power Co Ltd, JR-EAST Energy Development Co Ltd and the electric utility Tohoku Electric Power Co Inc.
The project is located in Akita prefecture, Japan. It is expected to be commissioned by 2024 with the start of the construction phase by 2021.
