Kajima Corp to build 700 MW Akita Yurihonjo offshore wind farm

The consortium of companies led by Renova and consists of Cosmo Eco Power, JR-EAST Energy Development, and, Tohoku Electric Power has selected Kajima Corporation as the project’s contractor in charge of the construction of the Akita Yurihonjo offshore wind farm. 

Through the Akita Yurihonjo Offshore Wind GK (AYOW), the wind farm will be composed of MHI Vestas wind turbines with a total generating capacity of around 700 MW. The project has been in development as early as 2015.

The construction of the plant is expected to start in 2021 with the target completion by 2024.
