juwi Shizen Energy Inc. and Trina Solar Japan Energy Co., Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Trina Solar Limited have received an order from Banpu Power Public Company Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Banpu Public Company Limited, for EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) of an approximately 28.8 MW mega solar plant named Osato Solar Park in Miyagi Prefecture’s Kurokawa District. The construction work is currently in progress and is expected to finish in summer 2019.
This power plant will be constructed on a site of approximately 336,000m2 located in Miyagi Prefecture’s Kurokawa District. Annual output is expected to be approximately 30,947 megawatt hours (approximately 30,950,000 kilowatt hours), equivalent to the annual electrical power use of approximately 10,400 ordinary homes. The electricity generated will be sold to Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. using the Feed-in Tariff scheme for renewable energy.
Trina Solar will be managing development and construction, while juwi Shizen Energy will be conducting the construction. Both players will be involved in the planning and procurement of the power plant development project. As for funding, project financing is led by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, a Japanese megabank, as the arranger in the syndication of the non-recourse type loan.
