A consortium of ITOCHU ENEX Co., Ltd., Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Mercuria Investment Co. and Maiora Asset Management has listed a new infrastructure fund on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Enex Infrastructure Investment Corporation invests primarily in renewable energy projects, being mainly sponsored and operated by ITOCHU ENEX Group, which develops and operates renewable energy projects in Japan.

It is the sixth infrastructure fund listed on the Infrastructure Fund Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The fund's share price dropped below its offering price on its first day of trading.

Enex Infrastructure Investment Corporation has used the proceeds of the offering, coupled with a JPY11.8 billion (US$106.5 million) loan from Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, to acquire a portfolio of five large-scale solar power plants operating in Japan with a total generating capacity of 37.6 MW which were owned and developed by its owners.
