Hrvatska Elektroprivreda (HEP) is constructing the Korlat wind farm near the town of Benkovac and plans to commission it in August 2020.

The project involves the development of a wind farm set up some 40 kilometres from the port of Zadar, near Benkovac, a town in the interior of Croatia. It is located at an altitude of between 270 and 340 metres above sea level. The wind speed at the site is a moderate 7.2 metres per second, ideal conditions for the 18 units of N131/3600, which is specifically designed for moderate and very low wind speeds.

Korlat's expected production is around 170 GWh, which is around 1.5% of Croatian electricity consumption.

The total investment value is worth HRK500 million (US$73.9 million).

The wind turbines will be supplied, built and commissioned by the Nordex. The construction of infrastructure and connection to the Korlat wind power network and the construction monitoring and control tasks are performed by the Croatian companies Ing-Grad and Fractal.
