wpd Europe, a unit of wpd, and Rijeka-based Tekol Teri have set up VE Krmpote, a joint venture that will develop the 90 MW Krmpote wind farm on the Ruševo-Krmpotsko location near Novi Vinodolski, in Croatia.
The EUR120 million (US$135.45 million) project will be built on a 27 sq. km. of the land area enough to generate about 250,000 MWh of clean energy. The output can cover the annual electricity consumption of more than 50,000 Croatian households.
VE Krmpote has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the City of Novi Vinodolski, which states the investor’s intention to be mindful of the local community’s interests and needs and the city’s plan to support the investment.
