Grupo Interalli has started operations of the 9.1 MW PCH Recanto hydropower plant in Tangará da Serra, Mato Grosso, Brazil.
The BRL42 million (US$10.25 million) PCH Recanto project has received an authorization to start its operation from the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel).
PCH Recanto comprises 155 meters of a waterfall and only 20 hectares of a reservoir, and it also has a river channel in Tangará da Serra, Mato Grosso.
The energy produced from the PCH rencanto has already been sold in the 2016 A-5 auction, for BRL 192.88 (US$47.09) per MWh.
The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) has set the deadline for the plant to start operating is January 2021. However, the agency authorized the commercial operation of the plant in December of 2019.
