The energy developer Grenergy connected its 103 MW solar park located in Quillagua, in the Atacama desert in the province of Tocopilla in Chile on September 28. The solar park is Grenergy's largest project to date.
The construction and commissioning are completed and the park connection to the electricity grid begins, the park will reach its peak power in October.
Specifically, this photovoltaic plant has a total installed power of 103 MW and an estimated production of more than 300 GWh, will add to the 1.5 GW portfolio of projects that Grenergy has on its horizon for 2022.
To optimize the excellent solar resource in this area, which provides nearly 3,000 net hours of solar radiation per year, this park uses bifacial photovoltaic modules that increase its production by up to an additional 15%.
