Greenalia has started the public exhibition phase of its proposed 30 MW Campos Vellos Wind Farm in Galicia, Spain.
Located between two towns of Beariz and Boborás, the wind farm has an estimated investment of more than EUR30 million (US$33.84 million). The 30 MW onshore wind project includes the installation of 6 wind turbines with a 5 MW unit power, 102.5 meters of hub height, and 145 rotor diameter. The wind farm will produce up to 121, 567 MWh per year, enough to supply energy to more than 25,000 families. The commissioning of the facility will avoid the consumption of almost 9,000 tons of oil.
The Campos Vellos Wind Farm is situated in an area of top wind resource and avoids the lands included in the Natura 2000 Network as well as the Special Protection Areas for Birds (SPAs). In addition, the project is separated from the Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) and there is none present in the area of influence of the Wind Farm.
