Greenalia plans to develop the 18 MW Cabanelas wind project located in the region of Galicia, northwestern Spain.
The EUR14 million (US$14 million) project will feature four 90-meter-tall turbines capable of generating some 61.5 GWh per year equivalent to the annual consumption of over 15,000 families and avoid 22,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
Public consultations are underway for the project and its environmental impact study. The plans also propose expanding Cabanelas outside of protected natural spaces.
