Iberdrola has started to commission its two solar photovoltaic (PV) projects located in Extremadura, Spain that have a combined capacity of 100 MW.
The projects are the 50 MW Majada Alta and 50 MW San Antonio solar PV plants that are both installed in the town of Cedillo, Caceres. The two projects consist of about 250,000 solar panels that can generate up to 156,000 MWh of energy per year.
The solar farms are part of the 20 renewable energy facilities in Extremadura owned by Iberdrola. The two projects are expected to supply clean energy for the consumption of about 45,000 homes.
