US electric cooperative Great River Energy (GRE) has entered into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Apex Clean Energy for the 400 MW wind farm project located in North Dakota in the USA.
The agreement pertains to the 400 MW Discovery Wind project that is being constructed in McLean County. The project will be connected to a 436-mile high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) transmission system which is being purchased from GRE by Nexus Line, a subsidiary of Rainbow Energy.
The wind farm is expected to be operational by 2025.
