Electric utility Salt River Project (SRP) has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with NextEra Energy Resources LLC for the energy produced from the 161 MW Babbitt Ranch Energy Center project in Arizona.
The onshore wind farm is located in the city of Flagstaff in Coconino County and can generate enough power for the consumption of up to 40,000 local homes. The project consists of 53 wind turbines supplied by General Electric.
The project is expected to be operational by December 2023. It will form part of the larger clean energy complex that includes a 60 MW solar park and a 60 MW battery system.
EDP Renewables through its subsidiary EDP Renewables North America LLC, has completed the construction of the 200 MW Riverstart solar farm.
