Fusion Fuel and Ballard Power Systems have connected Fusion Fuel's H2Évora green hydrogen project to the Portuguese electric grid.
The demonstration project, which consists of 15 HEVO-Solar units and associated balance of plant equipment, will produce 15 tons of green hydrogen per year and avoid 135 tons of CO2 per year. The facility incorporates a 200 kW Ballard Power FCwave fuel cell module that converts green hydrogen into electricity, allowing Fusion Fuel to sell power during peak demand.
Integration of Fusion Fuel's solar-to-hydrogen HEVO solution and Ballard's fuel cell technology demonstrates the viability of hydrogen as a flexible energy storage vector and off-grid power source.
