Voltalia, an international player in renewable energies, will provide Construction and Operation & Maintenance services to an investor client for a 2.5 MW solar plant to be built in Albania, in the Fier area, located in the South-West region of the country. It is the company’s first project in Albania.
Construction of the solar plant is expected to start in the coming weeks, with a commissioning date expected by Q3 2019 at the latest. The project will notably mobilize Voltalia’s Greek teams whose knowledge of the region has been a valuable asset since the call for tender process.
With growing needs and a power mix almost entirely dependent on Hydro, Albania is looking to quickly diversify into other renewable energy sources with a particular focus on solar and wind capacities.
