Albania’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy launched a tender for the construction of a 100 MW solar park on August 2018. Among the six bidders, India Power Corporation, FZE and Midami Limited has won the bid.
The EUR70 million (US$80 million) facility located in Akerni area, near the city of Vlora will sell the 50 MW to the state-owned distribution system operator OSHEE at a fixed price of EUR0.0599/kWh (US$0.0688/kWh) over 15 years, while the remaining 50 MW will be sold to the market.
The construction of the solar farm is set to be completed in 18 months after the signing of the contract between the consortium and the Albanian government.
