First Solar secures order for 279 MW solar project in Alabama

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has placed an order to First Solar for the delivery of solar panels for the construction and development of the 279 MW DC solar photovoltaic project which will be located in Lawrence County in Alabama, USA. 

The Lawrence County Solar Project is expected to enter commercial operation in 2027. 

First Solar has announced an investment of up to US$370m for a dedicated research and development (R&D) innovation center in Perrysburg, Ohio, which is expected to be completed in 2024.
