The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has announced its completion of the Final Environmental Impact Statement (Final EIS) for the proposed Revolution Wind Farm Project. Located approximately 15 nautical miles southeast of Point Judith in Rhode Island, the offshore wind farm, led by Revolution Wind, LLC, aims to construct up to 100 wind turbines with an estimated capacity of up to 880 MW. It is estimated that the project could provide power to over 300,000 homes in the area, marking a significant milestone in the transition to renewable energy in the region.

The Final EIS document outlines the potential environmental impacts of the wind farm project's proposed construction and operations plan. It is available on BOEM’s website and confirms that fewer turbines will be used, in response to feedback from local stakeholders, to minimize any adverse impacts on visual resources and benthic habitats in the area.

Ørsted and Eversource Energy are developing the project.
