First Hydrogen Corporation has selected Shawinigan, Quebec, Canada as the location for its first green hydrogen ecosystem. Using modern electrolysis technology, the company expects to develop up to 50 MW of green hydrogen for use with its light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and other hydrogen-powered cars and applications in the region.
First Hydrogen has undertaken site surveys and formally begun the process of securing and developing respective sites for the local generation of green hydrogen and the assembly of its zero-emission commercial vehicles.
The LCVs will be built in Shawinigan for distribution across North America alongside the company's Hydrogen as a Service product. When operating at full capacity, the assembly plant will be able to produce 25,000 vehicles per year and will provide a significant boost to green technology employment in the region.
