Fervo Energy and Clean Power Alliance (CPA) have signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 33 MW geothermal power project that would supply CPA with carbon-free geothermal energy 24/7. The contract will offer non-weather dependent, renewable energy to more than 3 million residential and commercial consumers in 32 CPA member communities in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
The project will transmit 33 MW of carbon-free geothermal baseload energy from Beaver County, Utah to the regional grid in California in Q2 of 2028. It will generate enough energy to power 13,559 houses in Southern California annually while preventing 21,005 metric tons of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions annually.
