Leeward Renewable Energy begins construction of 100 MW solar PV project in North Carolina

Leeward Renewable Energy (LRE) has begun the construction of its 100 MW Oak Trail solar photovoltaic project located near Moyock, North Carolina, USA. Verizon Communications will purchase the solar farm's energy production under a long-term power purchase agreement.

Blue Ridge Power is the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor and is committed to employing qualified local labor.

Oak Trail solar PV project is anticipated to begin commercial operations by the second half of 2023.
