Eolus has sold its 147 MW Pienava wind project in Latvia to state-owned utility Latvenergo.
The transaction included both a share purchase agreement, finalised on June 11, 2025 and a separate project management agreement, ensuring Eolus continues overseeing development through to completion. With an estimated EUR 215 million (US$ 248 million) capital expenditure, the project will contribute over €350,000 annually to the local municipalities of Tukums and Dobele, while enhancing Latvia’s energy independence and reducing electricity costs for consumers
Located in Tukums municipality, the project will comprise 21 turbines with tip heights of 250 metres and is expected to generate up to 475 GWh of electricity annually. Construction begins immediately, with commercial operations targeted for the first half of 2027.
