Enviromena has received unanimous planning consent for the 30-acre, 9 MW solar photovoltaic project at Bryngolwg Farm in South Wales, UK.
In collaboration with RE Projects Development, the solar farm will be constructed on four fields to the south of the farmhouse, accommodating between 16 and 23 rows of south-facing photovoltaic (PV) panels capable of supplying electricity to more than 2,500 homes and offsetting approximately 3,700 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. The lowest border of the panels will be raised above the ground to allow sheep to continue grazing at the site, while all existing hedges and vegetation will be preserved.
This planning approval comes at a time when energy prices for British consumers continue to rise due to geopolitical unrest and the conflict in Ukraine.
