JDR Cable Systems Ltd. has begun construction on its subsea cable manufacturing facility in Cambois, Northumberland, UK, close to Blyth.
The 69,000 sq m, GBP130 million (US$149 million) facility is scheduled to open in 2024. The construction phase supports 171 jobs in the community.
In September 2022, the project was supported by the UK's Offshore Wind Manufacturing Investment Support Scheme. Galliford Try Holdings PLC will lead the construction.
