MathWorks signed a 12-year virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) for an 11 MW portion of the 250 MW 25 Mile Creek wind project in Ellis County, Oklahoma, USA, owned by Enel North America.
Through the arrangement, MathWorks will acquire roughly 50,000 MWh of wind electricity and the associated renewable energy credits (RECs) annually, which is sufficient to power its two Massachusetts campuses and six US field operations. The agreement will help MathWorks in becoming carbon neutral by 2023.
It is anticipated that the wind farm will generate more than 1,100 GWh of clean electricity annually.
