Elera Renováveis, a renewable energy unit of Brookfield Asset Management, has started the commercial operation of the 360 MWp Alex Solar photovoltaic complex in the Ceara state of Brazil.
The project consists of nine solar plants with about 810,000 solar panels developed over a site of 908 hectares (2,244 acres) in the rural areas of Limoeiro do Norte and Tabuleiro do Norte municipalities.
Elera Renovaveis has invested BRL950 million (US$183.00 million) in the project.
