2W Energia began mobilizing the works of the Anemus Wind Complex. The construction of the complex, which will have three parks, will be developed by Allonda, a company focused on sustainable solutions.
The complex is located in the municipalities of Currais Novos and São Vicente, in Rio Grande do Norte, and will have a clean and renewable energy generation plant, with 138.6 MW of installed capacity. The energy generated will be mainly destined to 2W's retail division customers, composed of small and medium-sized companies seeking to migrate to the free energy market.
The Anemus complex will have 33 wind turbines with a nominal power of 4.2 MW each. The diameter of the rotors will be 147 meters and the height of the towers 125 meters above the ground. The generation capacity of the three parks will be equivalent to the energy supply of 360,000 homes, avoiding the emission of more than 260,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year.
To guarantee the totality of investments in the Anemus wind farm, 2W issued BRL475 million (USD91.3 million) in green debentures. With the issuance of debentures, the Anemus wind farm completes the financial equation of resources for its construction.
