AES Brasil has formed a joint venture (JV) with BRF SA for the development of a 160 MW wind farm in Rio Grande do Norte state, part of the Cajuina Wind Complex. The new wind project will cost a total investment of BRL832 million (US$156.4 million).
BRF will directly invest some BRL80 million (US$15 million) in the project and will sign a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for 80 average megawatts (MWa).
Project construction is scheduled for late 2021. It is seen to be completed in 2024.
