Enel Green Power Brasil, a unit of Enel Green Power (EGP), has started the commercial operation of its 353 MW Morro do Chapeu Sul II wind farm project located in the state of Bahia in Brazil.
The BRL1.92 billion (US$342.27 million) project is built in the municipalities of Morro do Chapeu and Cafarnaum. It consists of 84 wind turbines that are connected to the National Interconnected System of Brazil and can generate more than 1800 GWh of clean energy per year, avoiding an annual carbon emission of around 992,000 tons.
Morro do Chapeu Sul II wind farm is the fourth project of Enel that is put into operation in Brazil in 2021.
