Scatec ASA, together with Equinor ASA, has planned to build a 532 MW Mendubim solar photovoltaic plant located in Assu city, in Rio Grande do Norte state, Brazil.
The Mendubim solar project, with a total investment of about BRL1.6 billion (US$291 million), is expected to start the construction phase by March of 2022 and is scheduled to be operational by July of 2023.
Once operational, 60% of the project's output will be delivered to the steel industry in the Maranhao state, especially plants of domestic firm Alubras and Norwegian Norsk Hydro
