Equinor makes final investment decision for 531 MW solar PV project in Assu

Equinor has announced its final investment decision (FID) on the 531 MW Mendubim solar photovoltaic (PV) project located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.

The PV park is being developed by Scatec, Hydro Rein, and Equinor as a joint venture. Each of the three partners has an equal 33.3% share in the project and will perform engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services together. Scatec and Equinor will provide operation and maintenance as well as asset management services for the power plant.

The US$430 million asset will be financed through a combination of project financing and partners' equity contributions.
