Brazilian utility Global Participacoes Energia SA (GPE) has completed the acquisition of an interest in two small hydropower plant projects with a combined capacity of 25.4 MW and a 40% stake in a natural gas power plant in Brazil.
GPE has secured the 20% stakes in the 14 MW Agua Limpa and the 11.4 MW Areia small hydropower projects that are both located in Tocantins state from Petrobras. The projects are owned by Termoeletrica Potiguar SA (TEP). The 40% interest in a natural gas power plant located in Amazonas is acquired from Companhia Energetica Manauara SA (CEM) which owns the project.
The two deals valued a total of BRL155.6 million (US$27.94 million).
